AS PART OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACADEMIC LIBRARIES, THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF PRACTICE "IRBIS" WAS OPENED

The opening of the school "IRBIS" took place at the XIII international conference "modern trends in the development of academic libraries" within the walls of the University.

The purpose of the meeting is to support the digital transformation of academic libraries, introduce modern information technologies and improve the professional competence of industry professionals.

The meeting was attended by specialists of the library industry, representatives of the scientific community and experts in Information Technologies.

At the opening ceremony, the chairman of the board – Rector Lyazzat Erkinbayeva made a welcoming speech and stressed the importance of the meeting. In his speech, he noted the role of the IRBIS school in the development of academic libraries and noted that such international platforms provide a wide opportunity to unite the professional community and exchange experience. He also noted that the library industry is entering a stage of digital transformation and stressed the importance of introducing new technologies. According to the rector, this initiative will strengthen international partnership and contribute to the transformation of libraries into centers of education and innovation.

The school "IRBIS" was organized as an important professional platform aimed at the modern development of the library and information sphere. The program addressed the issues of introducing artificial intelligence technologies into library processes, the development of automated library and information systems, improving digital services and effective management of library collections.

During the meeting, representatives of leading scientific organizations of the Russian Federation and international experts shared their experience in modern digital solutions. In addition, the possibilities and integration solutions of the automated library systems" IRBIS 64 "and" Barys " were presented.

The practical part was held in a special format. Participants worked on specific cases and analyzed professional cases. Practical skills in maintaining an electronic catalog, correcting and supplementing bibliographic records have been improved. In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Science and higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the issues of automation of reporting were considered, and methods of filling in fields 691 and 900 were explained. In addition, the directions of development of digital libraries were widely covered. The issues of introducing web modules, electronic libraries and mobile services were discussed. Special attention was paid to the processes of replenishment of library funds.

The school "IRBIS", which is scheduled for three days, will continue its work in the future. Practical classes, seminars and professional discussions await the participants. The meeting will give a new impetus to the development of the library industry and will contribute to strengthening international cooperation.
